Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das, two sound engineers from Guwahati were on a day’s vacation to Dokmoka in Karbi Anglong.

They are accosted by locals on suspicion of being child-lifters and started thrashing them.

The fatally injured youth later succumbed to their injuries.

On the other hand, fear psychosis has gripped various parts of Assam following a fake news circulated in social media about child-lifters sneaking into small pockets of the State.

According to police, it is the handiwork of some unscrupulous circles to spread terror and panic through fake news in social media.

Meanwhile, Assam Police have urged the people not to panic and get swayed away by such fake news on social media.

Violence in Doboka: Similar acts of mob violence also took place at Jamunakukh of Doboka in Hojai district on Saturday.

Irate locals attacked two youth, identified as Dilwar Hussain and Tapan Bhowmik with sharp weapons.

The locals took to streets brandishing lethal weapons.

They even attacked policemen when security forces tried to intervene and control the situation.

Meanwhile, police have nabbed two persons in connection with the incident.
