Lakhimpur doc resigns Zubeen
Zubeen Garg breathed his last in Singapore

North Lakhimpur: A doctor serving in a state health centre in rural Lakhimpur has resigned from his post in protests of slow progress in the investigation of heartthrob Zubeen Garg.

Mrinmoy Hazarika, Medical and Health Officer-1 at Islampur State Dispensary, Lakhimpur resigned from his official post because of his โ€œfrustration and strong dissatisfaction of current government enquiry regarding Zubeen Garg da’s death investigation process both as a citizen of India and as a student of Scienceโ€.

In a resignation letter addressed to Joint Director of Health, Lakhimpur dated October, 14, 2025 Hazarika said that not be cooperating with the District Health Service, Lakhimpur even if “ESMA Act” is invoked upon him.

He also stated the resignation was made as per the guidelines laid by the Department. of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Assam,
