The newly-built church of Kokrajhar town, John Bosco Catholic Church, which is in the heart of Kokrajhar town, would be inaugurated on October 15, 2018.
This was informed by the Rector and Priest of Kokrajhar Parish Fr. PA Pater.
Sources said the new church would be inaugurated by the Bishop of Bongaigaon Diocese Rt. Rev. Thomas Pulloppillil and Provincial of Guwahati Province Rev. Fr. Jaruarius S Sangma.
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Hagrama Mohilary will be the Chief Guest in the thanksgiving ceremony of the inaugural programme.
As part of the programme, the Bishop of Bongaigaon Diocese, Rt. Rev. Thomas Pulloppillil, will bless the new church followed by a holy mass.
The celebration would be held at the auditorium hall of the new church.
The priest of Kokrajhar Don Bosco Catholic Church, Fr. Damian Basumatary and priest and Rector Fr. PA Peter are the main architect behind the successful completion of John Bosco Catholic Church in Kokrajhar.
The new church is on way to become the most attractive and magnificent centre for visitors in Kokrajhar town.
It is to be mentioned that Kokrajhar Don Bosco School was founded by Fr. KV George in 1991 which has now become a centre of quality education.
Besides, it has also St. Auxilium Convent School at Khwdwmtola in Kokrajhar for the girl students.
