Committed to the cause of discouraging single-use plastic, Cotton University set a precedent on Wednesday by distributing khadi cloth bags for free to its faculties and staff members.

The initiative was carried out under the aegis of the vice-chancellor Bhabesh Chandra Goswami.

Around 1000 bags were distributed in the campus on Wednesday.

Cotton University campus has already been declared as a ‘single-use plastic-free zone’ and the administration seeks co-operation from the students, faculties and staff members in this regard.
