Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam will reopen its gates to visitors on October 1 after the monsoon season.

Guwahati: Visitors planning a trip to Kaziranga National Park in Assam this tourist season will need to wait a bit longer.

A notification issued by the Divisional Forest Officer of the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division cites these factors as the reason for closure.

The elephant safari closure will begin on May 1, 2024, while jeep safaris will be suspended starting May 16, 2024, said a notification.

The park typically closes annually during the monsoon season, which brings heavy rains and can make road conditions treacherous.
