Three members of the seven-member rhino poachers’ gang involved in the poaching of a rhino on May 9 at Agoratoli Range of Kaziranga National Park, was arrested on Monday.
Karbi Anglong police had launched a manhunt to arrest the poachers after the carcass of a rhino was discovered on May 7.

Based on a specific input about the presence of the poachers’ gang, the police launched a sudden attack and pounced on them caching the gang by surprise.
At the time of the attack, only three members were present in the spot.
The arrested poachers have been identified as David Siyama- a resident of Churachandpur in Manipur; Vicky Thapoa- a resident of Sakmuthi Tea Estate of Jakhalabandha and Chime Larka of Nagaon.

The police also recovered one AK 47 rifle, two AK 56 rifles, one double-barrel rifle, one grenade, 4 live round of bullets and other incriminating documents from their possession.
The poachers have confessed to having killed the rhino in Agoratoli Range of KNP on May 7.
