Thirty-one karate players from Dhubri district under the banner of Dhubri District Karate Association on Thursday will leave for Assam Karate Championship at Guwahati.

The two-day event will be held on November 20-21.

President Rama Kant Singh and secretary Sahjahan Ahmed of the Dhubri District Karate Association will accompany the team, said Rama Kant Singh.

In a press release signed by the president of the Dhubri District Karate Association, Rama Kant Singh said, “It gives us immense pleasure to announce that, a Karate team of 31 athletes have been selected to participate in the Assam State Karate Championship.”

Events and technical specifications of the district level team have been fulfilled by Rama Kant Singh and Sahjahan Ahmed respectively, Singh added.

“The state championship organized by Assam Olympic Association will be held on Nov 20-21 at Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium,” said Singh.
