The Kamrup Metro district administration on Sunday clarified that the shops and establishment shall be allowed to open in the district with 50% employees from July 20, 2020 onwards and need not necessarily carry COVID19 test results immediately.
This was stated in an order issued on Sunday by the Kamrup Metro deputy commissioner “based on the directions from the government”
The order said: “However, steps will be taken by health department to conduct random sample COVID-19 test of the employees and owners of the shops, business establishments, offices, etc.”
The Kamrup Metro district administration appealled to the shopkeepers and business establishments to facilitate the testing of their employees at the COVID Counseling Centres (CCC).
“An appeal is also hereby made to the shopkeeper, business establishments etc. to facilitate the testing of their employees at the COVID Counseling Centre (CCC) existing in each of the 31 wards under Guwahati Municipal limits,” the order said.
All other conditions such as opening of one side of the street, 50% of the workforce to be utilized etc. shall remain the same, the deputy commissioner said in the order.
