Assam’s senior journalist Anirban B. Gohain passed away on Monday at his residence at Gogamukh after a brief illness. He was 42.
Gohain worked with Assamese daily Asomiya Pratidin as a correspondent from Gogamukh.

Educated in Gogamukh HS School and North Lakhimpur Collge, Gohain was an active armature theatre activist and a well-known artist.
He was also the advisor of the KMSS-Dhemaji district committee and convener of Raijor Dal in Gogamukh.
He leaves behind his parents and wife Gayatri Doley, a writer.

A popular figure of the area and an ethnic hospitality entrepreneur Gohain’s death has been widely mourned in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji and across the state.
The North Lakhimpur Press Club mourned the death of the scribe and sent a condolence message to the bereaved family.
