Residents of Nilbagan area in Hojai district staged a protest demonstration on Sunday, demanding the repairing of the dilapidated Nilbagan-Hojai subway road near National Highway 54.
The residents have alleged that around a 300 metre stretch of the said road is in complete shambles for several years now.
“We have repeatedly complaining local MLA Shiladitya Dev and Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi, asking them to repair the road. But all our plea have fallen into deaf ears,” they said.
“We have been facing a lot of difficulties due to the dilapidated condition of the road. A number of people have met with accidents as well,” they added.
