Hojai’s SOS Children’s Village in collaboration with Hojai FRU organised a free general medicial camp at Telibasti MV School in Hojai district of Assam on Tuesday.

A team consisting of a doctors comprising Dr M Rahman, Howraghat Government Hospital, Karbi Anglong; Dr Jiyaul Hoque, Model Hospital, Nilbagan and Prashant Paul, Multipurpose Worker, FRU Hojai conducted the tests, provided consultation for general ailments and prescribed medicines for the same.

A total of 180 people were screened and were provided free medicines.

Talking to this correspondent, Dhruba Lochan Nath, senior co-worker said, “In this camp beneficiaries were provided awareness about Japanese Encephalitis and about how to keep themselves fit and healthy.”

“Haemoglobin test, general test, nutrition status of women and children below 18 years were screened in this camp and accordingly if anyone found with deficiency in nutrition, we help and support them, educate them about nutrition and capacity building.” Nath added.

He informed that Hojai FRU has assured to support special awareness programme on Japanese encephalitis for the community during the month of August.

On the otherhand, on Sunday also SOS Children’s Village in collaboration with Hojai FRU organized a general health camp at Dakhin Komrakata L P School at Komrakata in Hojai.

A total of 140 people were screened and were provided free medicines.
