In the wake of COVID-19 situation, with the aim to ease the curriculum load on students, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has decided to reduce the Higher Secondary syllabus by 30 per cent for the 2020-21 academic year.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has already rationalized its 2020-21 syllabus by 30 per cent for Class IX to Class XII.

As per sources, the AHSEC academic committee members have already had a meeting and decided to reduce the 30 per cent workload of the students.

This, as per the sources, comes as a one-time measure to help the students for coping up with the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

It has been known that the downsizing, of course, would include both HS First Year and HS Second Year curriculum.
