Mizoram Assam: Heroin worth Rs 10 lakh seized in Tinsukia

Guwahati: A massive consignment of suspected heroin was seized near Bokajan in Karbi Anglong, Assam on Tuesday.

According to police sources, the suspected drugs is worth over Rs 7 crore in the international grey market.

Two alleged smugglers were apprehended during the operation.

They were identified as Rashidul Islam and Noor Alam.

Police said that based on inputs, they initiated an operation.

During this operation, they came across two suspected persons (Islam and Alam) on a truck.

On intercepting them near the Old Lahorijan area in Bokajan, Karbi Anglong, the police found their behaviour suspicious.

Hence, 1.1 kg of suspected heroin was recovered from them during the search of the vehicle.

It was further found that they had brought the suspected drugs from Manipur and were heading to Goalpara.
