NAGAON: The police in Nagaon district of Assam seized a huge quantity of drugs.
The seizure of drugs was made at Amtala area of Nagaon district in Assam.
The Heroin consignment, weighing around 500 grams, were seized after intercepting and checking a vehicle bearing registration number AS-01-AH-4226.
Upon further investigation, it was found that the intercepted vehicle contained 50 boxes of contraband substances.
The police secured the illegal cargo, estimated to have a street value of approximately Rs 3.5 crore.
“The consignment was coming from a border area and further investigation is underway,” said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
