With Guwahati’s daily COVID-19 caseload exceeding 1000 on Monday, all educational institutes in Assam including hostels have been closed for the next 15 days.

Moreover, all the other districts in Assam where the cases have reached a threshold will also impose similar restrictions.

This was confirmed by Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

“With cases in Kamrup Metro exceeding 1000, I’ve advised DC to shut down all educational instns including hostels for 15 days for now. All other districts, where the numbers reach a threshold that require such measures, shall follow suit,” Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
