GUWAHATI: Aaradhyaa Dhanuka, a 10-year-old prodigy from Guwahati, has secured her place in the Guinness World Records, earning the prestigious title of ‘Officially Amazing.’

Daughter of Swati and Dr. Ghanshyam Das Dhanuka, and granddaughter of Kusum and Dr. Ashok Kumar Dhanuka, Aaradhyaa achieved this remarkable feat by setting two new world records in hula hooping.

On May 19, 2024, Aaradhyaa stunned witnesses by hula hooping for an incredible 21 minutes and 2 seconds around one arm at a 90-degree angle, surpassing the previous record held by Viha Gedia from the United States.

In addition, she set a second record by spinning three hula hoops around her neck simultaneously for 4 minutes and 2 seconds.

These extraordinary achievements were accomplished in the presence of official witnesses, strictly adhering to the guidelines set by Guinness World Records.

Over the past several months, Aaradhyaa has honed her hula hooping skills, earning numerous accolades along the way.

She holds seven state records, three national records, three world records, and has even been awarded an honorary doctorate in sports.

“I am thrilled and honored to have my name in the Guinness World Records,” Aaradhyaa said. She credited Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, as her inspiration, citing his own Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance and the largest performance by folk musicians with instruments on April 13, 2023.

“After witnessing him achieve a Guinness World Record, I aspired to have one to my name,” she added.

“I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams.”

Aaradhyaa’s achievements have been celebrated widely, with congratulations pouring in from dignitaries and citizens alike.

Her record-breaking performances have brought immense pride to Assam and serve as a beacon of inspiration for the entire nation.

Beyond her personal accomplishments, Aaradhyaa is passionate about promoting hula hooping across all communities and age groups in India, believing strongly in its numerous health benefits.

She has already begun sharing her skills with others, teaching hula hooping to underprivileged children at Mahatma Gandhi Buniyad Vidyalaya during Independence Day celebrations.
