Guwahati: Guwahati Police recovered 30 kg of ganja and arrested two men during a vehicle interception at Jorabat Naka on the city outskirts in Assam, officials said.
An EGPD team from Basistha Police Station stopped a vehicle (ML-10-C-7573) during routine checking and seized the narcotics being smuggled from Meghalaya to Guwahati, police said via their X handle.
The arrested men have been identified as 29-year-old Pyndap Bing from Ri-Bhoi district and 32-year-old Donbok Mawlong from East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya.
Authorities have taken the seized ganja and the vehicle into custody and initiated an investigation to curb the smuggling of drugs into the city.
