Assam: Guwahati businessman Abhijit Goswami ‘commits’ suicide

Well-known businessman from Guwahati in Assam – Abhijit Goswami, popularly known as Shanku Da, has allegedly committed suicide.

Abhijit Goswami was found hanging in the bedroom of his residence at Nizarapar in Chandmari locality of Guwahati.

Goswami was the owner of the Alankar Hotel in Guwahati and the son-in-law of another well-known businessman Phani Sarma.

Wife of Abhijit Goswami, who is in London has been informed and is reportedly rushing back to Guwahati.

Born in 1960, Abhijit Goswami was the son of Late Kamala Kanta Goswami.

He did his schooling from the Don Bosco School in Guwahati and then went to Shillong in Meghalaya for further studies.

Goswami was also founder member and secretary of MIND India, Institute of Positive Mental Health and Research at Guwahati in Assam.

He was a social entrepreneur and also life skills master trainer.

He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
