Guwahati: Assam government restored mobile Internet and data services in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts on December 28, 2025, following significant improvement in law-and-order conditions.
The Home & Political Department issued a notification lifting the earlier suspension, citing the absence of any immediate threat to public peace. Authorities said the move reflects a careful assessment of the ground situation and the return of normalcy in the affected areas.
All mobile service providers were instructed to resume Internet and data services from 8:00 am, enabling residents and businesses to access digital communication and online services without restrictions. Officials emphasised that the decision followed stabilisation of the law-and-order environment after recent unrest.
