Riding on the spirit of Swachh Bharat campaign, the Assam Government and State Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal have appealed to the people of the State to celebrate a plastic free Durga Puja this year.
Through a Twitter promo published by MyGov Assam, the Assam Government has also called for a pollution free Durga Puja this year.

The puja festivities have already gripped Guwahati and other parts of Assam with all the puja committees gearing up to welcome Goddess Durga with Shashthi puja on Monday.
The Assam Government has also appealed to the people of the State to take a pledge this Durga Puja to shun use of plastic.
Urging the people of the State to keep the environment clean during the puja festival, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”
