Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi along with the first lady of Assam, Prem Mukhi on Wednesday paid a visit to Kamakhya Temple and paid obeisance to Goddess Kamakhya and sought her blessings for the development of all sections of the people of Assam.

Visiting the Shakti Shrine at the decent of ‘Nivritti’ which marks the culmination of the five day Ambubachi Mela, one of the greatest spiritual gatherings of the country, Prof Mukhi offered his puja at the Shakti Peeth for the welfare of the people of Assam.
He also thanked lakhs of devotees from the country and abroad who had flocked at the famous Shakti Shrine for making the Ambubachi Mela a grand success.
Governor Prof Mukhi also hailed the efforts of the Temple Management Committee, civil and police administration, volunteers of different agencies for putting in their best efforts in celebrating the Ambubachi Mela, maintaining the highest order of harmony, tranquility and peaceful coexistence where pilgrims from different regions of the country and abroad have converged to practise and realise the union of mind with the soul.
Prof Mukhi also thanked lakhs of pilgrims who came to the city during Ambubachi Mela at the Nilachal Hill, the cradle of the Shakti Peeth Kamakhya for maintaining cleanliness and seeking the blessings of the Goddess.
