Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi at Tribal Youth Exchange Programme

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Monday inaugurated the seven-day Tribal Youth Exchange Programme at Don Bosco Institute in Guwahati.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) in collaboration with Don Bosco Institute is organizing this exchange programme, which will end on March 8.

Around 500 students from various states and union territories have enrolled for the programme.

The Governor expressed his joy to be a part of the programme.

He spoke about the various initiatives taken up by the Centre to develop the tribal communities.

He told the students to take this opportunity to know each other.

“Learn about each other’s culture and when you go home take something new with you,” he said.

He advised the youngsters to make one new friend every day from another state and interact with participants of different states and learn from their culture.

“We are Indians first and everything else comes second,” the Governor said.

He praised Don Bosco Institute for hosting this mega event and thanked NSS Regional Directorate for joining hands with Don Bosco.

He was confident that the program will be a success since it is done by Don Bosco.
