GUWAHATI: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent of the North Eastern Region (NER) Directorate, representing all the Northeastern states, who participated in the 75th Republic Day parade and Prime Minister’s rally in New Delhi, called on Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on Thursday (February 1).

A total of 171 NCC cadets, along with junior wing cadets of NCC girls’ band and 4 Remount and Veterinary company cadets, participated in the camp.

Congratulating each member of the contingent, Governor Kataria said, “I am proud that in the Republic Day camp organised in New Delhi from December 29, 2023 to January 29, 2024, you have demonstrated your dedication and love for service and national unity. By doing this, you have enhanced the pride of the Northeastern region.”

“All you cadets have displayed your commitment towards national service and the spirit of unity by participating in the rally of the Prime Minister organised on January 29, 2024. This diverse group from the Northeastern region reflects a rich picture of talent and commitment,” Governor Kataria added.

The Governor commended the NCC NER Directorate for selecting the talented NCC cadets from different districts of the states and creating a representation that truly reflects the diversity and unity of the region.

Governor Kataria also congratulated the contingent for being awarded with the “Best Cultural Team” trophy.

The Governor while motivating and inspiring the cadets to continue to excel in their future said that the award is the testament to the creativity and dedication of the contingent.

The Governor further said that the NCC has a very important role to play in the development of youth, who are the future of the nation, adding, the NCC strengthens the spirit of being an Indian.
