Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi spent time and interacted with the programme officers of National Service Scheme (NSS) at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on Tuesday.
Welcoming the programme officers, the Governor urged upon them to serve the nation selflessly.
The approach ‘My Nation First and I am the last’ should be made as a way of life, adding the Governor asked the officers to work hard for the development of the nation through their skills and educate the community.
He also said that individual prosperity is no prosperity at all if the nation does not progress.
National prosperity should be at the top of anything else, he said.
The Governor also stressed on the need for a constructive outcome for their services they are putting in for the society.
He asked them to give a proper shape and a positive conclusion to whatever task they adopt.
He further said that positive thoughts should be instilled among the youths so that they can contribute for a progressive nation.
It may be noted that the delegation of NSS programme officers are on a five days orientation programme on Youth development.
The Group had the participation of Director of IIE Dr Abhijit Sharma, regional directorate of NSS-North Eastern Region Dipak Kumar and nineteen other NSS programme officers.
