Assam Governor felicitates Hima Das; wishes luck for future endeavours

Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi felicitated ace sprinter Hima Das on being conferred the prestigious Arjuna Award at a small function held in Raj Bhavan on Monday.

Taking a note on the promising journey of Hima Das and acknowledging her grit and determination which have earned her gold and silver medals in the recently concluded Asian Games at Jakarta in Indonesia and at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland, Prof Mukhi congratulated Hima Das and wished her all the luck for all her future endeavours.

He also congratulated her on receiving the Arjuna Award. He also advised her to meet Milkha Singh, P T Usha and other sprinters to keep brushing her running skills and keep winning medals for the country.

He also asked the Director of Sports and Youth welfare Pabitra Ram Khound who was present at the event to find ways and means to improve sporting infrastructure of the country and make Assam a sports hub of the country.
