GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Thursday (June 27) a special recruitment drive aimed at integrating 35,000 Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers, currently serving as contractual staff, into regular government service.

In light of a Supreme Court ruling that prevents the state cabinet from directly regularizing the services of contractual teachers, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma outlined the governmentโ€™s plan to create 35,000 new vacancies for regular teachers within the SSA framework.
