Asserting that crimes against women have seriously dented the confidence of the public, Sonowal called for stringent punishment of criminals and directed the Chief Secretary to take steps to create awareness about such crimes.
The Chief Minister also directed the Director General of Police to set up a cell to expeditiously take up all crimes against women and ensure swift investigation into all such cases.
