The Assam government has effected a reshuffle in the Police Department of the State and a total of seven Assam Police Service (APS) officers, serving in the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASPs), have been posted as Superintendents of Police (SPs), Foreigner Regional Registration Offices (FRROs).
As per an order issued by Dr Deepak Majumdar, Additional Secretary, Government of Assam, Home (A) department, on Saturday, Hiranya Barman, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Sadiya Police district, has been allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of Superintendent of Police/Commandant and has been posted as the Superintendent of Police, FRRO (APS Ex-cadre Post), Jorhat/Golaghat/Karbi Anglong, headquartered at Jorhat against the existing vacancy.
Dharmendra Kumar Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Hojai, has been allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of Superintendent of Police/Commandant and has been posted as the Superintendent of Police, FRRO (APS Ex-Cadre Post), Silchar/Karimganj/Hailakandi/NC Hills, headquartered at Silchar against the existing vacancy.
Debasish Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police (Security), Sivasagar, has been allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of Superintendent of Police/Commandant and has been posted as the Superintendent of Police, FRRO, Dibrugarh/Sivasagar/Tinsukia, headquartered at Dibrugarh, against existing vacancy.
Ani Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commandant, Assam Commando Battalion, Mandakata, now under the order of transfer as Additional Superintendent of Police (Security), has been allowed to hold the charge of police in the rank of Superintendent of Police/Commandant and has been posted as the Superintendent of Police, FRRO, Barpeta/Nalbari, headquartered at Barpeta, against existing vacancy.
The order stated: “This is in cancellation of earlier government notification issued vide No HMA 50/2018/12 dated March 12, 2018.”
On the other hand, Utpal Bhuyan, 2nd-in-Command, Assam Police Battalion (APBn), Kahilipara, Guwahati, has been allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of Superintendent of Police/Commandant and has been posted as Superintendent of Police, FRRO, Kokrajhar/Dhubri/Bongaigaon/Goalpara, headquartered at Bongaigaon, against existing vacancy.
In the same order, Sushanta Biswa Sarma, ADCP (Central), Guwahati, Police Commissionerate, Guwahati, has been allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of Superintendent of Police/Commandant and has been posted as the Superintendent of Police, FRRO, Nagaon/Morigaon, headquartered at Nagaon against existing vacancy.
Dr Sadeque Ali Ahmed, ADCP (Border), Guwahati, Police Commissionerate, Guwahati, has been allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of Superintendent of Police/Commandant and has been posted as Superintendent of Police, FRRO, Kamrup/City/Mangaldai, headquartered at Guwahati against existing vacancy, the order mentioned.
