Guwahati: A forest department official was found dead at a railway station in Jorhat, Assam on Sunday.
As per reports, the body of Ratul Gogoi, a forest officer from Khanamukh, Sivasagar district, was found at Selenghat railway station in Mariani, Jorhat district, on Sunday.

The family of the deceased said that he was allegedly assaulted by a senior official.
They claimed that Gogoi had informed them by phone that he would be returning home by train on Saturday and planned to seek medical attention for “serious injuries” sustained during the alleged assault by a superior officer.

Gogoi’s death is under currently investigation.
