Dhubri district remains the worst hit, with over 470,000 people affected. Cachar, Barpeta, Golaghat, and South Salmara districts also face severe flooding.

Over 3,150 villages and nearly 50,000 hectares of farmland are submerged.

Almost 50,000 people have sought refuge in relief camps, while hundreds of thousands more rely on distribution centres for aid. The floods have also impacted nearly 15 lakh livestock and poultry.

Rescue efforts continue, with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) evacuating people and animals by boat.

However, infrastructure damage is widespread, including road closures, a bridge collapse, and breaches in embankments.

The Kaziranga National Park has not been spared either as seventy ranger camps are flooded, displacing park staff and causing the deaths of over 130 animals, including rhinos, deer, and monkeys.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts continued rainfall over the next few days, raising concerns of further flooding.
