People from Tangla town in Udalguri district of Assam can now enjoy the latest blockbuster movies in the big screen sitting in the comfort of a modern and well-equipped digital cinema hall.
The first digital cinema hall of the town, Saya Cinema, was inaugurated on Friday by BTC Executive Member, Cinema and Cultural Affairs, Bonjar Daimari.

The inauguration of the digital theatre was marked by screening of Bollywood movie, “Uri”. The BTC Executive Member congratulated the proprietor of the cinema hall, Dhaneswar Boro for setting up the first digital cinema hall in the entire Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts (BTAD) area.
Old Dipti Cinema Hall in Tangla town has been renovated and re-named Saya Cinema Hall. It is located atop the building that houses the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in the heart of Tangla town.
Saya Cinema Hall with a seating capacity of 242 will facilitate viewing of latest movies to the audience who will have access to all comfort in return of the their money.

Converted into an air-conditioned theatre with comfortable chairs in Platinum and Gold circles, the theatre would also have cafeteria providing snacks to the cine-goers.
The digital cinema theatre has been equipped with projectors and other accessories from Qube Company.
Cine-goers will not be allowed to carry inside any edible items with them, including tobacco, chewing gums, etc. However, they would be able to buy edible items from the counter inside the theatre.
The BTC EM, Daimari while inaugurating the hall stated that BTC administration would also chalk out plans to help establish such digital halls in other three districts of BTAD districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang and Baksa.
An inaugural ceremony was also held which was attended by BTC Executive Member, Jagadish Sarkar, Chief Manager, SBI Tangla, Nuesthan Narzary, and Robin Eastment from Balipara Foundation, Sound Engineer, and Jatin Sharma among others.
Meanwhile, people of the entire Udalguri district are excited about the digital theatre as it is first of its kind in the BTAD.
A movie-buff, and student of Tangla College, Wajid Khan said that he was very much excited about the cinema hall as people here had to travel about 30kms to Mangaldai town to enjoy a movie in a cinema hall.
