A major fire broke out at the 132 KV powerhouse in Jagiroad Paper Mill on Tuesday morning.

Reportedly goods and machinery worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the blaze.

After the incident came to light, several fire engines rushed to the spot. It took two hours before they were able to being the fire under control.

Initially, the factory staff tried to put out the fire, but they failed as it had become unmanageable.

The police are yet to determine what is the cause of the fire. However, they suspect that it was a short circuit that could have led to the incident.
