Assam filmmaker Dip Bhuyan’s film ‘Idiom of Rug’ will be screened at the 16th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2020 on January 31 next.
The film depicts the life of the inhabitants of Arunachal Pradesh who makes a living by making rugs out of yak hair.

The 52-minute Hindi documentary film has been selected for screening in the National Competition category at the film festival.
MIFF will be held from January 28, 2020 to February 3, 2020.

This year, the festival directorate has received 874 entries, with 144 entries from 24 countries in the International competition and 730 entries in the National competition.
Apart from films in various competition categories, best documentary short fiction and animation films produced in India and abroad will be screened at the film festival.
Special packages like European Union films, Irish films, Films from North-East India, Student film packages, Art Sanctuary films, and retrospective of Satyajit Ray and PSBT are being organized.
Animation packages from Russia, Finland and Balkans will also be showcased in the sixteenth edition of MIFF.
Moreover, cinematography and editing workshops will be held during the festival providing a rich and wholesome experience for film makers and cineastes.
The delegate fee for the festival is Rs 300 and no fees will be charged from students of film studies, visual media and mass communication.
