Police have arrested a fake executive magistrate in Assam’s Jorhat. 

The arrested person has been identified as Biswajyoti Dutta alias Madhurjya Bora of Kanhargaon Na-Ali Dhekiajuli of Titabar in Jorhat district. 

Biswajyoti Dutta was apprehended by the police on charges of posing as an executive magistrate. 

A police source stated that Dutta was found traveling in a car having a name-plate mentioning that the it was of an executive magistrate.

He was detained after he went to the Cinnamara Police Outpost and claimed to be a magistrate and allegedly tried to find fault with the policemen on duty at the Outpost. 

The source said that later during his conversation with the in-charge of the Outpost it was found that Dutta was an imposter. 

The police official verified the matter with district administration authorities and arrested Biswajyoti Dutta. 

Biswajyoti Dutta is a known criminal, who was arrested in April 2020 on similar charges.

On April 2020, Biswajyoti was arrested for posing as a fake doctor along with two others. 

They tried to dupe villagers at Pulibar in Jorhat district. They had tried to extract money in the name of testing and treating COVID-19 patients.
