The person has been working in the tea garden since 2018 using a bogus registration ID and putting the lives of the people associated with the garden at risk through his fraudulence and quackery.

Baruah said, “During interrogation, the person revealed that the fake certificates were forged by him. He has been sent to judicial custody.”

Sources said many quacks and fake doctors are working in the tea gardens of Assam and they provide medicines to the people.

“Most of the time, it is seen that the tea garden people go to a quack for treatment instead of going to a doctor. Superstition has been prevalent in tea gardens of Assam. It is seen that in the name of treatment, the quacks torture the patients,” said police sources.
