Former MLA and physician Dr. Aditya Langthasa was the first person to be vaccinated in Hojai after the launch of the Covid19 vaccination drive in the district.
The nationwide Covid19 vaccination drive was launched on Saturday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Hojai deputy commissioner of Dr. Sadnek Singh formally launched the much-awaited vaccination drive in the district.
The vaccination drive was launched by the deputy commissioner at Jugijaan Model Hospital in Hojai in the presence of other officials and the health staff.

While a total of 100 beneficiaries would be administered vaccination at Jugijaan Model Hospital, another 100 beneficiaries would be vaccinated at Lanka Health Centre under Hojai district.
On the first day of the Covid19 vaccination drive in India, a total of 3,352 sessions were held wherein 1,91,181 beneficiaries were vaccinated as per the provisional reports.

The first day of the massive countrywide COVID19 vaccination programme was conducted successfully.
“Additional 3,429 beneficiaries were vaccinated in the defence institutions. As many as 16,755 personnel were actively involved in organizing the immunization session sites,” the Union health ministry said in a statement.
“No case of post-vaccination hospitalization has been reported, so far,” it said.
