Elderly people receiving woolen clothes and essentials in Hojai

The Hojai district legal services authority (DLSA) on Monday distributed woolen clothes and other essential items among elderly residents of shelter homes in Doboka in Hojai.

DLSA general secretary Pronita Morang and three other social workers Fahmida Quinine Majumdar, Dishtima Gogoi and Meilin Faiham distributed the clothes among the elderly citizens in order to help them.

Most of these elderly people had to seek shelter at the senior citizens’ home in Doboka after their families refused to look after them.

Pronita Morang said,” The blessings and smiles we receive from the elderly after distributing the essentials among them give us immense inner satisfaction.”

Morang said, “It is our duty to help the underprivileged in the society.”

The beneficiaries also thanked the DLSA members for their help and support.
