Assam: Eight science models of Darrang students for State Congress

Eight science models of children scientists from different schools of Darrang district of Assam have been selected to participate in the State Children Science Congress to be held in Majuli.

The sixteen children scientists – two in each group whose science models based on this year’s focus theme ‘Science, Technology and Innovation for Clean, Green and Healthy Nation’ have been selected in the District Children Science Congress under the 26th edition of the National Children Science Congress 2018 that concluded at Mangaldai College on Sunday afternoon.

The list of child scientists whose model have been selected to participate in the State meet as informed  by Bidyut Deka , a member of the district organizing committee on Monday are as follows  – Jograj Sarma & Priyabrata Das (KV, Mangaldai) , Deborshi Nath & Animesh Nath (Paschim Darrang Jatiya Vidyalya, Dipila) , Jyostisman Pathak & Helima Khatun (Mangaldai Town Girls’ HS), Parbin Aftab & Karisha Bora (Mangaldai Town Girls’ HS), Priyamjyoti Kalita & Rohit Bose (Don Bosco High School, Mangaldai), Nupur Kashyap & Jyotsna Das (Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan, Mangaldai), Nori Begum & Barsha Bhattacharya (Deormornoi HS) and Sahil Ali Mossadique & Dhritiraj Nath (Holy Child Public School, Mangaldai).

All total 73 science models have been presented by the participating 109 children scientists in the district children science meet.

In the closing function presided over by Dr Khagendra Kr Nath, Principal of Mangldai College, several prominent guests including Mangaldai legislator Gurujyoti Das and National Award winning science teacher Sasanka Hazarika interacted with the budding child scientists.

Earlier, the day-long children science meet, a programme of NCSTC under Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, was ceremonially inaugurated by Dr Budhin Chandra Hazarika, Principal of Kharupetia College by lighting the lamp.
