He further said with its easy availability, citizens will now be worry-free of any artificial scarcity of stamps.
Area manager of e-stamping (North East) under Stock Holding Corporation of India Subroto Chakrabarty elaborated upon the technical aspects involved with the facility.
He also briefed upon e-Stamping mobile app launched for verification of e-Stamp certificate by the citizen through manual entry or scan.
E-stamping in Assam was launched on June 17, 2009, and the roll-out of e-stamping services in 30 districts of the state started in January 2018.
The e-Stamp certificate is a tamper-proof document and captures all the important details of the transaction.
These details are certificate issue date, first-party name, second party name, property description, article number, consideration amount and stamp duty amount.
Each certificate bears a certificate number which is the Unique Identification Number (UIN).
These transaction details are printed on the e-Stamp, and hence the certificate cannot be misused.
The Government and the general public can easily verify the authenticity of the e-Stamp certificate by using the facility of online verification.
