Duliajan MLA Teras Gowala of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who resigned recently citing “rampant corruption in the appointment for various posts in the corporation offices of Assam” met the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at his Dibrugarh residence on Wednesday.
Gowala said that the meeting with the CM was “fruitful and positive” and the CM had assured Gowala that any decision taken in the future vis-à-vis Duliajan constituency, he would be “taken into loop”.

Sonowal asked Gowala to withdraw his resignation and the latter said that he would “mull” on it after meeting the local party workers.
