Accused Rajib Boro

A 25-year-old drunk man allegedly killed his father after a commotion between the two at Madarbari village under Tamulpur police station in lower Assam’s Baksa district on Wednesday late night. The deceased has been identified as Bhakta Boro (60).

Police officials said Boro died, when the accused, Rajib Boro, who was in an inebriated condition, reportedly attacked his father with a knife in the feat of rage.

Soon after the incident, local residents caught Rajib and reported the matter to police. Police rushed to the spot and arrested him. Police have also seized the knife from Rajib’s possession.

Police have sent the body of the victim to Mushalpur for post-mortem examination.
