SILCHAR: Police in Karimganj district of Assam successfully conducted a raid, seizing prohibited drugs worth approximately Rs 20 crore.
The raid was led by SP of Karimganj district of Assam, Parth Pratim Das.
The operation targeted a hidden stash of one lakh yaba tablets concealed within a KIA SELTOS car with registration number AS/01/FK/2939 in Sri Krishna Nagar area, under Auctionbazar police station’s jurisdiction.
Two individuals, Abul Hasan from Patharkandi Erligul and Shaharul Islam from Badarpur Lamajur, were apprehended.
Hasan, residing in Dimapur in Nagaland, is suspected to be a key figure in the drug trafficking network operating in Margherita, with the illicit tablets traced back to Cachar in Assam.
Authorities are currently interrogating Hasan and Islam to gather more information about the drug trade’s origin, distribution, and other involved individuals.
