Udalguri: The draft Photo Electoral Rolls for four Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) under Assam’s Udalguri district have been published today as part of the preparations for the upcoming elections.
The draft electoral rolls have been released for 45-Bhergaon, 46-Udalguri (ST), 47-Mazbat, and 48-Tangla Assembly constituencies.
The publication has been carried out in accordance with the election schedule prescribed by the Election Commission.
With the release of the draft rolls, eligible voters of the district can now check whether their names have been correctly included in the voters’ list.
Citizens are advised to carefully verify their personal details, such as name, age, address, and photograph, to ensure accuracy.
If any eligible voter finds that their name is missing, wrongly entered, or requires correction, they can submit claims, objections, or applications for correction within the stipulated period.
Applications can also be submitted for inclusion of new voters, deletion of duplicate or incorrect entries, and correction of errors in existing records through the designated election offices and online platforms.
The district election authorities have urged all political parties, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to actively participate in the verification process to ensure the preparation of a clean and error-free electoral roll.
Special emphasis has been laid on verifying the details of elderly voters and checking for any duplication or inclusion of ineligible names.
The district administration has also appealed to the general public to take part in the process and cooperate with election officials so that a transparent and inclusive electoral roll can be finalised.
After examining all claims and objections, the draft rolls will be revised, and the final Photo Electoral Rolls will be published as per the official election calendar.
The publication of the draft electoral rolls marks an important step towards ensuring free, fair, and smooth conduct of elections in Udalguri district.
