Assam down town University (AdtU) is all set to organize TIDE 2.0 IDEATHON on March 23 and 24, 2021 with an objective to promote tech startups of Assam and the northeastern region.
In October 2019, Assam down town University’s Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation cell – down town Venture Labs – entered into an MoU with Ministry of electronics and IT for implementation of the TIDE 2.0 (Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs) scheme.
As part of the implementation framework, Assam down town University (AdtU) gears up to organise TIDE 2.0 IDEATHON on March 23 & 24.
The event is being organised in association with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, Assam Startup-The Nest and is sponsored by the Union ministry of electronics and IT.
“Individual innovators and startups can participate in the event by visiting www.adtu.in and register by providing a detailed synopsis about their innovation/Business plan/Model in pdf format and a presentation in .ppt/.pptx format which is non-mandatory,” said an AdtU statement.
The last date for submitting applications is March 20.
An expert committee will examine the proposals and those shortlisted after screening and evaluation shall be called for participating in TIDE 2.0 IDEATHON for the final pitch presentation.
Assam down town University is the only university in the northeastern region to have been selected for the scheme among a number of higher educational institutes all over India.
“We believe this will go a long way in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among youths and provide an excellent opportunity for innovators and nascent stage startups to showcase their mettle and take their innovation and business idea to the next level,” the organizers said.
TIDE 2.0 is a scheme launched by the Union electronics and IT ministry for strengthening close to 2000 startups in selected areas of national concern by leveraging emerging technologies and empowering incubation centres.
The primary objective of the scheme is to promote tech entrepreneurship through financial and technical support to startups engaged in supporting ICT startups using technologies such as IOT, AI, Blockchain, Robotics, etc. in eight pre-identified sectors of societal relevance.
The scheme has provision for providing grants of Rs. 4 lakh and Rs. 7 lakh to two startups (EiRs-at Ideation Stage) and two startups (with PoC) every year.
