An armed cadre of the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) was killed after an encounter with Dima Hasao Police.
The slain DNLA cadre has been identified as Black Dimasa.

Informing about the encounter, GP Singh, additional director general of police (law & order), Assam on Sunday tweeted that an “exchange of fire” with Dima Hasao Police took place at Purana Hajong village in Dima Hasao on Saturday evening.
During the encounter, one DNLA cadre, later identified as Black Dimasa, was injured and he was later declared “dead” by doctors.
GP Singh said one pistol, ammunition and some amount of money were recovered from the possession of the militant.

The Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) announced its formation in a press statement on April 15, 2019.
The outfit claimed that it is “committed to revamp the national struggle and fight for the liberation of a sovereign, Independent Dimasa Nation”.
The outfit’s ‘chairman’ is Naisodao Dimasa and Kharmindao Dimasa is its ‘home secretary’.
