The District Legal Service Authority of Lakhimpur in Assam has conducted three flood relief camps in different areas of the district since Sunday.

The DLSA-Lakhimpur led by its secretary Bichitra Dutta distributed flood relief material in Kawoi Bhuruka gaon and Borgoyan-Gendhali gaon in North Lakhimpur and in Bhet Toli gaon in Dhakuwakhona.

The DLSA-Lakhimpur launched a flood relief material collection drive from second week of July and with full public cooperation and services by para-legal volunteers, members of Lakhimpur District Bar Association, Lakhimpur district administration, police and student organizations distributed the relief materials among the flood affected people of the district.

The relief materials included clothes, rice, lentils, mustard oil, salt, potato, onion, packaged drinking water, milk, puffed rice, flattened rice, soaps and mosquito repellants.

Notably the relief materials by DLSA-Lakhimpur were distributed in non-plastic wrappers.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate of North Lakhimpur Justice Narayan Kuri, additional CJM Justice F U Choudhury, the sub-divisional judicial magistrate of Dhakuwakhana, Justice Angshuman Bhattacharya and judicial magistrate Justice Jayanta Saikia participated in the flood relief camps.
