The Dibrugarh district has recorded a gradual decline in Covid-19 cases in the past few days.

The positivity rate has come down to 2 per cent in the district.

A total of 10095 samples were tested in the district on Tuesday, of which 230 tested positive for Covid-19.

Dibrugarh district surveillance officer of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme Nabajyoti Gogoi said, “The trend of Covid-19 positive cases has been decreasing in Dibrugarh in the last few days. The positivity rate is 2 per cent now.”

“The virus has already infected 40 per cent of the population in the district. The people should maintain all Covid-19 protocols like wearing masks and using hand sanitizers,” Gogoi said.

The virus has so far claimed 212 lives in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

“The cases has been slow downed as people chose to follow the guidelines issued by the government to curb the rising cases of Covid-19. We have done enough test to detect the infection,” said a health official.
