“They confessed that they had dug the land using JCB and said they didn’t know that the land belongs to the old age home. It was a civil case. So, we have sent the case to the court with section 107,” the police officer said.

Devajani Changmai Gogoi (Dipa), president of Pujashree old age home said, “The land belongs to Pujashree old age home under dag no 31/32(3 katha 6 lecha) patta no 1. Without informing us, how can a person dig our old age home’s land.”

“It is a social organization and a shelter home for old age people, who are driven out from their home by their children. This type of illegal thing would not be tolerated further,” Gogoi said.

“We have been running this old age home for the last three years without any nuisance but now someone wants to create problems in the shelter home by doing such kind of activity,” she added.

Pujashree old age home has a capacity of 20 beds.
