Assam’s Dibrugarh girl shines in Dazzle Miss and Mrs India world held recently at Pushkar in Rajasthan.
She got the second runners up title among 22 contestants.
Kankana Baruah, from Dibrugarh got the second runners up title in the Dazzle Miss and Mrs India world held at Pushkar in Rajasthan.
She also received the sub title Assam India world.
She has made Dibrugarh and her parents proud after the feat.
Talking to the correspondent, Kankana Baruah said on June she have got an advertisement on Facebook about the event and applied for the event and get selected.
“I am very happy to receive the second runners up title,” she said.
“Next year on June I will participate at Dazzle Miss and Mrs Asia to be held at Sri Lanka,” she added.
“After this title I got offer from a South Indian movie,” she also said.
She said, “I am associated with an NGO Rengoni based in Jorhat which works for cancer patients.”
“I want to work for the cancer patients and free treatment of the patients,” she expressed.
Her father Pranob Baruah and mother Mridula Baruah are naturally happy over the achievement of their daughter.
Kankana has done her mass communication and journalism from Dibrugarh University and after pursuing her degree she works as a sub-editor at a local English daily of Dibrugarh.
After that she moved to Golaghat and later got a job of HR at Hyderabad.
“I am not interested in modeling but it suddenly happened,” she said.
“Now I want to work for the society,” she added.
“Due to cancer, many people died every year and some of them cannot afford the treatment because it is expensive,” she asserted.
“My main aim is to work for the patients and do whatever possible for them,” she added.
