The Dhubri Police has arrested a drug peddler on Saturday evening and seized banned Methamphetamine pills (WY tablets) worth Rs 1 lakh.
The police also seized a car used to carry the banned drugs.

According to sources, on the basis of specific information, the Dhubri Police launched an operation, led by Trinayan Bhuyan, deputy superintendent of police (headquarter), Dhubri.
During the operation, the police intercepted a vehicle soon after it entered Dhubri town in the evening on Saturday.
“On the basis of specific inputs that banned drugs were being carried in a Hyundai Verna car bearing registration No AS-16B-3273, police launched an operation led by Trinayan Bhuyan, DSP (HQ), Dhubri and intercepted the car soon after it entered Dhubri town this evening,” said sources.

After checking in the vehicle, the police recovered nearly 1,400 numbers of banned Methamphetamine pills (WY tablets) worth over Rs 1 lakh and nabbed a drug peddler from the car for possessing the drugs.
The drug peddler has been identified as 36-year-old Saidul Islam, son of Saidul Rahman, a resident of Karaitari village under Fakiragram police station of Kokrajhar district in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD).
Later, the recovered banned drugs and the vehicle were seized following all procedures and the culprit has been taken into police custody.
Further investigation is going on as informed by Trinayan Bhuyan, deputy superintendent of police, Dhubri, who monitored the whole operation.
